The plants available are similar to the one pictured! Be sure it goes into a humid environment immediately upon arrival.
Distribution and ecology:—Begonia amidalae is endemic to Batang Ai, Sarawak, Borneo . Knownonly from valley terrains or stream banks, on sunlit steep slope in very wet dipterocarp forest, associated with scrubby/herbaceous vegetation, elevation ca. 100–200 m.
Etymology:—The specific epithet is named after Padmé Amidala, a pretty fictional character in the Star Warsmovies. With embellished silvery spots on dark sheen green foliages, the appearance of this new species is reminiscent
of the starry sky. We have, therefore, ventured to choose a beautiful role of Star Wars as the epithet.
