Begonia dracopelta is a recently discovered species endemic to Kalimantan and Sarawak, in Indonesia. In its habitat it grows on vertical stone walls, near or under waterfalls, with a very high humidity (around 90%). This begonia stands out for having deep black bumps on the leaves when the leaf is adult. Its cultivation is recommended in terrariums, greenhouses or domes, where the temperature does not drop below 20 degrees and the humidity is high.
